The beginning

Soulshine Spores was created from a passion of discovering natural solutions to support and achieve optimal health. This journey has included many years spent in Asia learning about the power of traditional therapies and medicines, the role of diet and the benefits of fasting, meditation and movement, and ultimately the connection between mind, body and spirit.

Mushrooms have been used for their medicinal properties, most notably in China, for thousands of years. The transformative power of mushrooms has helped many generations support their cognitive function, immunity, energy, digestion, heart health, overall wellbeing and more.

There is also a magical element to mushrooms; their significance in folklore, some glow in the dark, others have psychedelic properties, they support entire forest systems and they breathe, just like us.

The quality of our functional mushroom blends are of the upmost importance. We went to great lengths to ensure we have sourced the finest product available from the best supplier possible. Our producer meets our very high standards for quality and reliability and is based in China where many medicinal mushrooms are native and have been grown for thousands of years.

Certified organic & premium quaility

The mushrooms we use are certified organic, premium quality, dual-extracted with no additives or fillers. We have thoroughly vetted our supplier and have obtained USDA documentation and other certificates for food safety and quality management.

Third party testing

Additionally, we have our products tested by AsureQuality in New Zealand, and our results are consistently at the highest of levels. We take pride in knowing that our mushrooms are providing our customers with the best possible health benefits.

We use Better Packaging for our shipping

We have already taken a step towards sustainability by using Better Packaging for postage satchels.  Better Packaging is a brilliant innovation supplying certified home compostable, fully biodegradable mailing satchel that are partly made from plants, as well as reusing ocean plastic pollution.

The best protection and preservation for our mushroom blends

We use a food-grade pouch for our organic and 100% natural products to ensure the highest quality and superior protection against micro-oxygen, moisture, and light transmission through the walls. These factors can degrade the quality of our Soulshine Spores blends over time, and we didn't want to compromise on their quality. They are however not home-compostable. 

While other pouches with may appear more organic and authentic, they are often coated paper over plastic. They can also be highly porous to these degrading factors and cannot offer the same level of protection. As a result, they can reduce the potency and quality of our blends.

We chose these types of pouches to provide the best protection and preservation for our blends. We understand and believe that sustainability is important, and we are continually exploring ways to improve our packaging while maintaining the highest quality of our products.
